Summary:
The Payroll Processor is responsible for processing weekly payroll for production staff and bi-monthly payroll for office personnel.
They review, adjust and post all hourly labor transactions on a daily basis.
Act as the administrator for our 401K plan including enrolling new employees, changes elections and processing loans.
Provide critical reporting to company management and working directly with leadership and coworkers to create efficiencies and enable process improvement.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.
Calculate and enter salaries, deductions and withholding's.
Work with production supervisors to ensure all employee hours are entered correctly and properly accounted for.
Work with HR to create, maintain and update employee records.
Ensures Quarterly Tax Reporting and W2s are accurate.
Process annual 1099 Tax Documents.
Prepare payroll journal entries and related account reconciliations.
Manage the Tuohy Furniture 401K plan.
Enroll new employees, ensure all elections are entered correctly and all transaction are appropriately processed.
Provide payroll reports to HR/Management and for audits.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Ability to work independently and to know when to ask for help in resolving specific financial issues.
Must be able to work with all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations and best practices.
Ability to set and meet deadlines including strong ability to manage and perform multiple tasks to completion at the same time.
Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills required.
Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Access.
Strong interpersonal and management skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years of previous experience in processing payroll.
Relevant prior experience working with ADP for payroll processing.
Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
2 or 4 year college degree preferred.
